The founding of the Coloured Men's Insitute, founded in 1926 by Kamal Chunchie after witnessing and experiencing the racist treatment of black and Asian people arriving in London’s Docklands.

We look at the role played by overseas nurses and doctors in filling the gaps in the National Health Service. In 1949, shortages in labour existed at all levels, with an estimated shortfall of 54,000 nurses.

We trained a group of young people to research the history of African/Caribbean communities over the past 50 years. Using this as the basis of a script, they produced videos in various London locations.
