The Hidden-Histories Archive, formerly the East London People's Archive, was founded in 1999. It contains 4,000 oral histories and 35,000 photographs, as well as video materials. These documents have been collected by Eastside Community Heritage through extensive outreach work over the last thirty years. The histories they contain reflect the lives of people living in East London throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Explore a selection of our past projects from the dropdown list in the navigation bar, to see how we bring our archive to life through pop-up exhibitions, community workshops and project websites.

The Hidden-Histories Archive has been collected and maintained for public benefit. To visit the Hidden-Histories Archive, please make an appointment with Eastside Community Heritage.
